Video of the week: 11 things to know about Andrew Zimmern's new restaurant

Lucky Cricket just debuted in St. Louis Park, Minn., with a focus on shareable Chinese fare and a tiki bar

Lucky Cricket, a new concept from TV host and chef Andrew Zimmern — best known for his Travel Channel series "Bizarre Foods" — and Michael McDermott and Jason Merrit of McDermott Restaurant Group, opened on Monday in St. Louis Park, Minn.

In the video above from a local news source, Zimmern, a Minnesota resident, shares 11 things to know about the full-service restaurant.

Lucky Cricket seats 200 guests and serves a menu made up of small plates and shareable dishes from several Chinese provinces such as duck shu mai and hand-pulled Xi'an cumin lamb noodles. The restaurant also serves bites with a contemporary twist like Hong Kong waffles with Shanghai fried chicken.

"Opening this restaurant has always been a dream," said Zimmern in a release. "My life's work has always been about exposing people to different cultures through food, so my goal with Lucky Cricket to take guests on a journey and showcase the authentic flavors of the Chinese foods that I love."

The new concept also has a tiki bar with tropical drinks and Asian-inspired cocktails.

The restaurant is the first of several Lucky Cricket locations planned for the rest of the country.
