As summer rolls into fall, hospitality groups and independent operators continue to open new restaurants across the country. The southern region of the United States offers a diversity of new concepts, ranging from intimate, reservations-only spots highlighting plant-based dishes, to sprawling, casual hangouts that put a premium on patios.
Miami has welcomed a couple new restaurants with international pedigrees: Chimba is the first stateside opening from an Argentina-based group, and Adrift Mare is the latest concept from “Gypsy Chef” David Myers, whose reach stretches from California to Dubai. In Atlanta, the long-anticipated Breaker Breaker is finally here, transforming an unusual plot of land into a fun-loving indoor/outdoor restaurant big enough for a crowd.
Over in Texas, Austin got its first entirely vegan tasting menu restaurant — Fabrik — while Dallas continues its recent run of Italian openings with Via Triozzi, a homey ode to family cooking.
