The Art Room, Los Angeles

Chef D. Brandon Walker debuted this restaurant, an all-day fast-casual concept, in March, with the hope of creating a positive and nurturing environment to tap the underemployed who may need a second-chance opportunity.

The Diner Bar and Grey Market, Austin, Texas

Savannah restaurateurs Mashama Bailey and Johno Morisano opened these all-day restaurants focused on port city southern food. The Grey Market acts as a community gathering place, while The Diner Bar (pictured) is a 120-seat all-day, full-service restaurant and bar.

Bodega and Share House, Charleston, S.C.

Uptown Hospitality, known for its sports bar Uptown Social (pictured), opened these restaurants in February. Bodega riffs on the kind of sandwich you’d find at a New York corner store, while Share House offers snacks with a slant toward seafood.
