Brooklyn Dumpling Shop, the fast-casual restaurant concept, has named Jeff Galletly as its first CEO, the company said Wednesday.

The New York City-based fast-casual restaurant chain, founded by Stratis Morfogen, said Galletly joined Brooklyn Dumpling from Restaurant Brands International Inc., where he most recently served as vice president and general manager of Tim Hortons USA. He assumed the position in January.

Brooklyn Dumpling Shop recently opened a unit in Calgary in Alberta, Canada, and has 11 restaurants total.

Galletly has also worked as an investor at private-equity Wingate Partners and VMG Partners, and in marketing and strategy roles at PepsiCo, after beginning his career at McKinsey & Co.

In an interview, Galletly said the entrepreneurial opportunities at Brooklyn Dumpling and the planned growth were attractive.

As well as Calgary in Canada, Brooklyn Dumpling Shop has locations in: New York; Charlotte, N.C.; Hoboken, N.J.; Austin and Dallas, Texas; and Philadelphia, Pa. It has plans to open restaurants in Florida, Georgia and Vancouver, Canada.

According to a company statement, in his new role, Galletly will “help steer all aspects of the business, overseeing operations in current locations across North America while focusing on business growth and development, franchise expansion, and culinary innovation.”

Brooklyn Dumpling Shop, which began in 2021, recently closed a funding round backed by Kevin O’Leary of Shark Tank and Matt Higgins, CEO of RSE Ventures.

In January, the brand, which is technology focused, launched a new point-of-sale system and opened its first international location in Canada.
