Kwame Onwuachi, Mike Solomonov, Nancy Silverton, more will take their skills to a new floating restaurant

American Express and Resy announce pop-up concept on the East River in New York City featuring a rotating assortment of famed chefs

American Express and reservation platform Resy on Wednesday announced a new floating dining experience in New York City. The limited-time cardholder-only event is scheduled for Sept. 17-21 and features chefs Kwame Onwuachi, Mike Solomonov, Nancy Silverton, Stephanie Izard, and the duo Jon Shook and Vinny Dotolo.

Wine Director Zwann Grays, of Brooklyn’s Olmsted and Maison Yaki, will curate the wine list and top London bar Tayēr + Elementary will create the cocktails.

“To be back cooking in New York at an exciting dining event like this one is a milestone,” said Solomonov, chef-wwner of Zahav in Philadelphia, in a statement. “I can’t wait to see it come to life with such a talented line up of chefs, and cook for card members who are passionate about restaurants and experiencing them in out-of-the-box ways.”

Platinum Coast, the first-ever floating pop-up restaurant on the East River, will be 225 feet and feature cabanas, in addition to regular table seating. There will be a live DJ when the sun goes down.

“Platinum Coast raises the bar for dining experiences and represents the premium and innovative events Global Dining Access members can expect from American Express and Resy,” said Alex Lee, vice president and general manager of Resy and the American Express Global Dining Network.

Global Dining Access members with American Express can book a table for lunch, aperitivo, dinner or late night and each service time will feature a different menu created by that day’s chef.

Menus may be inspired by the chef’s restaurants, hometowns, heritage, travel and more. In total, 20 different menus will be served over the course of the five-day dining event.

Solomonov (whose concepts also include Abe Fisher and K’Far) will cook on Sept. 17,  followed by Onwuachi (a “Top Chef” judge, James Beard Award-winning chef and executive producer for Food & Wine magazine); Silverton (the Los Angeles-based chef-owner of Osteria Mozza and Chi Spacca); Izard (Chicago-based chef-owner of Girl & the Goat, Cabra, Sugargoat); and Shook and Dotolo (Los Angeles-based chef-owners of Animal, Son of a Gun and Jon & Vinny’s).

Tickets for lunch are $115 per person for a three-course prix fixe meal; the aperitivo option is $95 per person; dinner is $200 per person and the late-night menu is $95 per person.
