Chefs on the Move: Thomas Keller and Stephan Pyles have new gigs

Plus other culinarians with new jobs, including the creator of the Impossible Whopper

Thomas Keller, arguably the country’s most respected chef, is teaming up with Ty Warner Hotels & Resorts to rework the food & beverage at the Coral Casino Beach & Cabana Club in Santa Barbara, Calif.

Stephan Pyles, the godfather of modern Texas cuisine, is working on the foodservice at the Interstate Inn in Stephenville, Texas, which is opening next year.

Michael Salem, the former Burger King corporate chef who developed the meatless Impossible Whopper as well as the vegan menu of celebrity Kevin Hart’s Hart House restaurant concept, is now the president of Recreate Foods, which specializes in plant-based chicken substitutes.

Hotel foodservice specialist Patrick Dahms is now overseeing 11 restaurants in the Davenport Hotel Collection in Spokane, Wash., and corporate chef Thomas Dritsas is now in charge of the food at Truluck’s.

Delmonico’s one of the oldest restaurants in New York City, is reopening with chef Edward Hong at the helm. He most recently was the chef of Journey, a multi-sensory restaurant concept with high-tech video projections and storylines behind the food.
