Video of the week: Danny Meyer on going cashless, Red Hen incident

New York restaurateur discusses embracing electronic-only payment methods and whether his concepts would welcome White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders

In this recent interview on CBS This Morning, Danny Meyer, founder and CEO of Union Square Hospitality Group in New York City, addresses criticisms of restaurants going cashless — a movement the restaurateur had thrown his weight behind in a LinkedIn post on June 19.

Four of Meyer's restaurants — Daily Provisions, Martina, Caffe Marchio and Vini e Fritti — already only accept electronic forms of payment. The CEO explains why he believes going cashless creates a safer work environment.

Meyer also discusses whether his concepts would welcome Sarah Huckabee Sanders. A political firestorm was ignited after Stephanie Wilkinson, owner of The Red Hen in Lexington, Va., asked the White House press secretary and the rest of her table to leave during dinner service on June 22.
