New on the Menu: Warming beef dishes and a Lunar New Year salad

Plus Roberto Santibañez’s rotisserie chicken and a spirit-free cocktail for Dry February

Surprising as it may seem, we are already into mid-February of 2021. Six weeks in, it has not been an easy year so far, and Kimpton Hotels understands that New Year’s resolutions that included staying away from alcohol during “dry January” might not have been fulfilled.

That’s all right. You deserve a do-over. We all do. So they are offering “dry February” options at some of their properties, including the Hotel Van Zandt in Austin, Texas, where you can enjoy the spirit-free Spices n’ Herbs, with all the complexity of a cocktail without the alcohol.

Lunar New Year, celebrated in China, Korea, Japan and Vietnam, is upon us, and Lotus & Cleaver, a new fast-casual restaurant in New York City, is celebrating with a “prosperity” salad.

Din Tai Fung, a Taiwanese concept known for its soup dumplings, has introduced a dish of luxurious American wagyu beef at one of its 13 domestic locations, not surprisingly in Las Vegas, and Ramen-san, a Lettuce Entertain You Enterprises concept, is helping Chicagoans get through the cold months with a winter hot pot series.

In Washington, D.C., chef Roberto Santibañez is celebrating his childhood memories with a Mexican-style rotisserie chicken at Ma Vida restaurant.

Take a look at these items in this week’s New on the Menu gallery.
