New on the Menu: Lobster bialy at new One Off Hospitality concept, dandelion syrup

Restaurant Hospitality looks at new and innovative food and beverage items trending across the independent restaurant landscape

Dishes and drinks that have us doing a double-take this week include an espresso tonic at the first freestanding coffee shop by fashion brand Ralph Lauren, dandelion syrup drizzled on a caramelized honey tart, and new menu items such as a lobster bialy at Café Cancale, a restaurant from One Off Hospitality that debuted in Chicago this week.

Those of us at Restaurant Hospitality regularly see what independent operators are dishing out, but some menu items make us stop and stare — whether they involve an out-of-the-box way of using an ingredient, the appearance of a burgeoning trend or simply stunning presentations. We bring you NOM: our New on the Menu weekly roundup.

Update May 17, 2019 This has been updated to clarify that only the East Village location of Little Tong Noodle Shop has rebranded to Little Tong.
