Denver chefs to cook for charity

Chef’s Kiss Recipe Challenge will benefit people in need

Denver chefs will be cooking for charity in a contest hosted by Restaurant Hospitality and sponsored by Chairman’s Reserve® Meats.

The Chef’s Kiss Recipe Challenge will be broadcast live on March 28 from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. Eastern Time, when chefs will be presented with market baskets to cook from, including top beef sirloin, beef short ribs, bone-in pork loin or pork tenderloin from Chairman’s Reserve® Meats, a brand of Tyson Fresh Meats. Each chef will also be given a specific spice and vegetable which they will be required to use.

It will be judge Stacey Ballis, president of the Chicago chapter of Les Dames D’Escoffier, Guy Meikle, chef of Heritage Restaurant in Chicago, and Restaurant Hospitality senior food and beverage editor Bret Thorn.

People who attend the live broadcast here will also get to choose their favorite.

Judges Stacey Ballis, president of the Chicago chapter of Les Dames D’Escoffier, Guy Meikle, chef of Heritage Restaurant in Chicago, and Restaurant Hospitality senior food and beverage editor Bret Thorn.

The winning chefs will give their prizes to Share Our Strength’s hunger relief program No Kid Hungry, CORE (Children of Restaurant Employees) which gives to hospitality workers in need, and José Andrés’ World Central Kitchen.

The champion, named by the judges, will donate $5,000 to their chosen charity. The audience favorite will get $2,500 to donate and the other competitors will get $500 for their charity.
