This hybrid variation of the Wood Ranch BBQ & Grill concept first opened in Laguna Niguel, Calif. in the spring. A second location is scheduled to open in mid-October in Carlsbad, Calif.
WR Kitchen & Bar has a smaller format (about 4,000 square feet) than its sister brand (about 7,000 square feet) and leans more fast casual, with ordering at the (bar) counter and smaller portion options, like the ability to order four ribs instead of a full or half-rack. The check average is roughly $20 at dinner, versus $25 for the full-service sister brand.
“We’re excited about our first location’s performance to date, as well as this second location,” said Eric Anders, Wood Ranch co-founder. “Similar footprint, a little more contemporary design, same menu — which Laguna Hills residents have responded very favorably to.”
