July 24th is National Tequila Day, but the spirit has year-round appeal. According to the Distilled Spirits Council of the U.S., tequila revenues grew 9.4 percent in 2015. California ranks first in tequila consumption, followed by Texas and Florida. And, according to Nielsen, margaritas rule as Americans’ favorite cocktail.

Del Frisco's Grille’s signature tequila cocktail is the Margarita 160, a unique blend of Sauza tequila, agave nectar and fresh lime juice, aptly named the "160" because it contains only 160 calories.
Mi Dia From Scratch in Plano, TX, is offering $5, $8 and $10 sipping tequila flights, as well as 25 percent off of extra Anejo tequila full-ounce and half-ounce shots. Margarita choices include the Hell Freezes Over, combining Green Chile Infused Herradura Silver tequila, Cointreau, cucumber, basil and dry ice.

At Sally’s Seafood on the Water in San Diego, the Spinach Margarita ($13) combines tequila, spinach, lime, lemon, agave nectar and white grape juice.
Don Chido in San Diego celebrates National Tequila Day with half-priced specialty tequila flights demonstrating a range of distinctive flavors. Normally priced at $24 to $26, the flights will be $12 or $13, and highlight tequilas from several regions of Mexico.
The Thee Barnacle ($11) is a spicy margarita rendition served at Tidal at Paradise Point Resort and Spa in San Diego. It’s a mix of tequila, cayenne infusion, pressed grapefruit and lemon, agave nectar and a sprinkling of smoked sea salt.
The Blood Orange Margarita signature cocktail ($12) served at Avant at Rancho Bernardo Inn, San Diego, incorporates barrel-aged tequila, fresh-squeezed blood orange juice and Solerno blood orange liqueur.
Stampede 66 in Dallas will be pouring tequila cocktails and shots, including a Watermelon Basil Margarita and the Berry Good made with blackberry nitrogen muddled berries, agave, Casamigos tequila, lime, hibiscus tea, St. Germaine and a splash of soda.
