Our restaurant opened just over two years ago, after an extensive renovation of what was the town pharmacy, built in 1914, the Kindreds said.
At the beginning of each day, our pastry and pasta chefs arrive early in the morning to begin creating everything from scratch, including our milk bread and handmade pastas, the Kindreds said. Our menu is seasonally focused and changes daily, so each day is a unique challenge.
At Kindred restaurant, we have always tried to develop a learning culture where our team continues to grow, develop and gain new skills each day. Every day, we host a lineup meeting to teach and train our staff about new dishes and ways that we as a group can improve, the Kindreds said.
We always wanted to create a comfortable place for people to gather and enjoy a great meal, whether it’s before a big game at Davidson College or folks joining us for a special occasion. Our number one goal is to create a unique and special experience for each guest, the Kindreds said.
Our food Kindred Restaurant is technique driven and we source the best ingredients we can both locally and globally, the Kindreds said. We find that showcasing these ingredients in the best light possible is best done when they are prepared simply with more focus on technique and consistent execution.
