Visuals are part of the romantic show on Valentine’s Day, everything from heart-shaped food and renditions of red velvet to tableside preparation and cocktails for two. Check out how various restaurants are appealing to their customers.
Heart-shaped pizzas will be on the Valentine’s Day menu at Zoom Pizza Factory in Chicago. In addition, kids (16 and under) can treat their parents to a pizza with the purchase of a kids’ pizza and drink. The heart-shaped pizzas are available for dine-in, pick up or delivery.
Who doesn’t love chocolate? Customers at the four Del Frisco’s Grille locations in the Dallas-Ft. Worth area can celebrate with this Triple Chocolate Decadence dessert. It features a brownie, chocolate pudding and fudge, all garnished with a chocolate heart.
Valentine’s Day gets more cozy with drinks for two. At Porchlight, Union Square Hospitality Group’s modern bar in NYC, Valentine’s Day weekend is the time for couples’ cocktails—meant to be shared.
Guests can indulge in exclusive dinner specials on Valentine’s Day weekend at Strip House Las Vegas. For example, the shareable Red Velvet for Deux ($18) comes with whipped cheese frosting.
Visual appeal takes place tableside at Big Eyed Fish in Houston during the four-course ($75 per person) prix fixe feast for lovers on Valentine’s Day. The Smoked Salmon starter is smoked at the table, and comes with crème fraiche, dill sauce and microgreens. Entrée choices include lamb chops, seared snapper or beet pasta.
At Zengo in New York City, the Valentine’s Day Dinner and Live Jazz Band (the four-course prix fixe menu is $75 per person) features That’s the Bombe, a dessert prepared tableside. It combines a chocolate sphere filled with bananas, mixed berries, dulce de leche ice cream, pineapple sorbet, cream cheese mousse, almond cookie crumbs, caramel, vanilla and raspberry sauce.
More heart-y foods: At the NJ locations of Choc-O-Pain bakery and café, heart-shaped cookies for Valentine’s Day are enhanced by white chocolate ganache and raspberry coulis.
At South Water Kitchen in Chicago, Chef Roger Waysok is preparing Red Velvet Churros for Valentine’s Day weekend. They’re served with a bourbon-cream cheese glaze.
