Executive pastry chef Lauren Amedure at Beauty & Essex in New York City will serve a chocolate zucchini cake inspired by her mother and grandmother on Mother’s Day during brunch and dinner service. The cake, taken from her grandmother’s recipe, will be paired with almond ice cream and marshmallow fluff — a play on her mother’s favorite ice cream flavor: Rocky Road. The dessert will be finished with a chocolate butterfly as a nod to her grandmother’s love for butterflies.

On May 13, the Arlington Heights, Ill., restaurant will serve a BBQ brunch buffet — including pulled pork, carving and omelet stations, French toast, pancakes and other features —  from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The meal will be $32.99 for adults and $14.99 for children. Tim Hortons locations across the U.S. will offer the Timbits bouquet for $7.99 on May 12 and 13 in honor of Mother’s Day. Timbits are the quick-service operator’s signature fried dough balls. The limited-time offer will include 24 Timbits in an assortment of flavors and will be wrapped with tissue paper and a ribbon in a gift box. Those who want to celebrate Mother’s Day with brunch can enjoy Peruvian-style dishes at this Los Angeles spot. Its menu will feature items like the salchi-papi — a bowl of morcilla (blood sausage), chorizo, la chang (Chinese sausage), serrano ham, ketchup seasoned with rocoto (Peruvian chile), mustard flavored with amarillo (a yellow Peruvian chile) and an egg sunnyside-up.

The ice cream chain is giving customers the opportunity to create a personalized gift this year with its Card-on-a-Cake program. This Boston joint is heading into Mother’s Day weekend this year with a unique event: Mamaste Beer Yoga. For $35 per person, City Tap House will host a yoga session with a certified instructor at 10 a.m. on May 12. The attendees will enjoy an hour-long class that includes a beer and light snacks. The restaurant will also serve Sunday brunch on May 13.
