SBE has named former Viceroy Hotel executive Peter Chambers as chief information officer, the company said Monday.

SBE is parent to the restaurant brands Umami Burger, Katsuya and Cleo, as well as the SLS Hotels chain.

Before joining SBE, Chambers was vice president of technology at Viceroy Hotel Group. In his new role, he will oversee information technology strategy, operations and data security programs across the SBE platform. He will be based in Miami.

“We are thrilled to have Peter join our executive team to manage our IT operations,” said Jorge Giannattasio, SBE’s chief operating officer. “With over 20 years of experience in the hospitality space, he will be a great asset as SBE continues to open new properties and expand across the globe.”

Prior to working with the Viceroy group, Chambers held senior technology positions at Vail Resorts, Olio Solutions, Combest and The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company. He also worked in hospitality at The Park Lane Hotel and Sheraton Belgravia in London.

Based in New York, SBE recently acquired the Morgans Hotel Group. The hospitality company operates more than 136 hotel, nightclub and restaurant brands.

In March, SBE announced a deal to merge with Hakkasan Group, which would bring the Hakkasan restaurant brand, along with Herringbone, Searsucker and a number of nightclubs, under the SBE umbrella.
