The future of equipment was on display at the recent 2019 National Restaurant Association Show in Chicago.

Automation and efficiency were two prominent themes amid questions of labor challenges and efficiency. Manufacturers offered fresh looks at equipment that deployed artificial-intelligence technology and other innovations to cut down on training, prep, cooking time and energy use.
