Chicago chef Iliana Regan this week closed Bunny Bakery and Workshop, and the sister Japanese restaurant Kitsune is scheduled to close in July, the company said in a statement.
“Thank you for all of your love and support over the last couple of years, from visiting us to supporting our ramen kits, classes, Kickstarter and everything else in between,” the company said on the bakery’s website. “On July 13, we will close the doors to Kitsune. Please come visit us before then, our team and food is just as good as it’s ever [been]. We want to go out with you remember[ing] us as having things you crave.”
The company noted that it still has a lot going on, and it is “reprioritizing.” Regan’s Michelin-starred concept Elizabeth remains open, as is Milkweed, which the company describes as “our cabin in the woods.”
Regan is a four-time semifinalist for the Best Chef: Great Lakes James Beard Award (2018, 2017, 2016 and 2014).
