Restaurants have turned to private event spaces to fulfill guest demands and find new ways to profit. But diners expect more than they have in the past, and operators are rising to the occasion.

Restaurant groups are opening event-specific spaces and hiring event directors who assist with everything from designing a personalized menu to acting as a coordinator or concierge.
