On the inspiration behind utilizing an airplane fuselage, Lew said, “It represents the storyline of crashing in a tropical jungle and surviving and thriving in an adventurous and dangerous environment.”
“For us, Last Rites encompasses a feeling of adventure, excitement and a little danger. We were inspired by pulp novels where often times the hero was captured by ‘natives’ to be sacrificed to their gods only to narrowly escape on the last page,” said Lew.
“Our intention was to create a space where one would be lost in the environment, losing concept of time of day or outside locale,” said Lew.
