The people behind popular millennial card game Cards Against Humanity, an adult card game where a card is drawn with a phrase and people compete to create the funniest or most inappropriate answer, are opening a full-service restaurant in their native Chicago.
Max Temkin, co-creator of the card game, is joined by executive chef and chief operating officer Aaron McKay (previously of Le Lan, Schwa, NoMi, Mercat a la Planxa), Chef de Cuisine Even Behmer (previously of Mercat a la Planxa), Artistic Director Nathan Allen and Director of Retail and Games Eric Garneau.
Lauded as a “board game café,” this 14,000-square-foot restaurant aims to bring customers together in an interactive way and dispel the notion that gaming is for gamers only. This inclusive community includes traditional board games like Scrabble and Monopoly as well as board games from indie designers.
