Chicken N Pickle adds three new locations, including first Nevada restaurant

The eatertainment concept brings pickleball, rotisserie chicken, and drinks to Allen, Texas Webster, Texas; and Henderson, Nev.

The eatertainment category is flourishing right now, with concepts spanning everything from golf and bowling to high-tech shuffleboard. The best of the bunch embrace a multi-pronged approach — novelty may get people in the door, but high-quality food and drinks will keep them there.

Chicken N Pickle is an indoor/outdoor entertainment complex that features a restaurant and sports bar, pickleball courts, and a variety of yard games. The first location opened in Kansas City, Mo. in 2016, and the concept quickly expanded into additional markets in Missouri, Kansas, Oklahoma, and Texas.

The newly announced locations join three others that are already in the works in Grapevine, Texas, Glendale, Ariz., and St. Charles, Mo., each slated to open in 2023.

“Our mission is to provide an atmosphere that fosters fun, friendship and community, and we are excited to bring that to more cities,” Dave Johnson, Chicken N Pickle’s founder, said. “We believe that bringing people together over a delicious, wood-fired rotisserie chicken, a cold beverage, and some friendly competition can create unifying bonds that ripple throughout the community and beyond.”

The three newest properties feature main dining areas, multiple bars, beer gardens, outdoor tables, and rooftops. All three locations have plenty of space for regular hangouts as well as corporate and social events, including lunch meetings, rehearsal dinners, and team building events. Each venue will also feature numerous indoor and outdoor pickleball courts and a variety of games like foosball, ping-pong and cornhole.

Interested parties can reserve pickleball courts online and compete with their friends, and novices have the option of taking private lessons or joining clinics to learn the game.

Chicken N Pickle’s on-site restaurant sources antibiotic- and hormone-free chicken, with rotisserie dishes available in four seasonings. Fried chicken sandwiches, wings, burgers, salads and sides, including hand-cut fries and tots, round out the menu. The full bar offers beer, wine and cocktails.

The Allen location joins The Farm: a 135-acre mixed-use development situated about 25 miles north of Dallas that also houses two other entertainment venues, High 5 and the Hub. The former features a bowling alley, laser tag arena and axe throwing, while the latter is a live music venue and food hall.

The Webster location is positioned halfway between downtown Houston and Galveston in the Flyway: an 80-acre development with entertainment and dining options that will be anchored by Great Wolf Lodge hotel and waterpark, which is currently under construction. The Henderson location sits outside of Las Vegas, occupying three-acres and multiple levels, adding a dog park to the usual restaurant, bar and pickleball courts.

All three are expected to open in late 2023, bringing the total of Chicken N Pickle locations up to a dozen in its portfolio.
