Farm Produce Box
Castle Hot Springs, a resort in the Sonoran Desert about 50 miles from Phoenix, Ariz., has closed its doors at least through the end of April, but its one-acre farm and greenhouse are still producing plenty of fruits, vegetables and herbs. So resident agronomist Ian Beger and executive chef and food & beverage director Christopher Brugman are assembling them into boxes for subscribers to pick up each Friday. Pictured is the Executive option, which includes greens and other vegetables, herbs, tomatoes and other fruit, edible flowers, coffee beans, preserves and seeds for customers to plant in their own gardens.
Profits go to St. Vincent de Paul.
Price: Starting at $25 per week for a pound of lettuce and an 8-ounce clamshell of microgreens to $250 for the executive box.
