Todd Thrasher who, among other things, is the owner of Tiki TNT in Washington, D.C., has named this tall, cool drink after the currency he used to buy his drinks at the tiki bars he visited while on trips as a diving instructor.
“You pay for your drink with the soggy money stashed in your swimsuit pocket,” he said.
It’s made with an ounce each of Espolon Blanco Tequila and Thrashers White Rum, a quarter ounce of Blue Curaçao, half an ounce of lemon juice, 1.5 ounces of passion fruit juice and two droppers’ worth of salt water.
“The Blue Curaçao is representative of the crystal clear waters from my diving days,” Thrasher said. “Wet money is a fun wink to that experience and a riff on the classic Tequila Sunrise cocktail.”
