A new cocktail at The Kitchen at Atomic in Las Vegas walks the line between sweet and spicy. The Garden Mistress is crafted with mezcal, Ancho Reyes Verde — a sweet, green liqueur made from poblano chiles — grapefruit, cilantro syrup and lime. The syrup is made in-house by stepping fresh cilantro in simple syrup.

For a limited time, Slater’s 50/50 is offering this festive burger that showcases the flavors of a Thanksgiving meal. The menu item features a turkey patty with brioche stuffing, turkey gravy, house-made cranberry sauce and a garlic-sage aioli on a honey wheat bun. Slater’s 50/50 is owned by Los Angeles-based Elite Restaurant Group and has 11 locations.

The Rickey at Dream Midtown, a New York City lounge, just launched a new cocktail menu on Nov. 8. Beverage director Adam Koelb’s take on the Negroni is a mezcal-based version with espresso-infused Campari, sweet vermouth, chocolate bitters and coffee beans encased inside an oversized ice cube.

The presentation of this other cocktail at The Rickey at Dream Midtown takes it to the next level. Inspired by the idea of an Ernest Hemingway-era writer stashing away a drink, the cocktail — made with bourbon, rum, vodka, Punt e Mes vermouth and dry vermouth — comes to the table in a custom flask inside a hollowed-out leather-bound book.

Another new cocktail at The Rickey at Dream Midtown is served in a chemical beaker complete with a syringe, bringing science and medicine to mind. The beaker contains a mix of blended Scotch whisky, lemon juice, rosemary and ginger-honey syrup. The drink is presented with a syringe filled with single-malt whisky, which is injected as a floater.

Blue Sushi Sake Grill, based in Omaha, Neb., with 12 units, is translating pumpkin spice into sushi form with this seasonal maki roll. The menu item features pumpkin — baked with cinnamon, nutmeg and brown sugar — and a yuzu-cream cheese filling with chopped pecans. The roll is battered and fried tempura-style with graham cracker breading and finished with a slice of roasted pumpkin and crème anglaise.

Olive & Ivy, a Scottsdale, Ariz., restaurant from Fox Restaurant Concepts, a 2018 RH 25 multiconcept operator, is now serving this fall special. The bruschetta is topped with creamy sweet potato, crispy Brussels sprouts and Aleppo pepper, a spice most often used in Mediterranean and Middle Eastern cuisine.
