Mario Batali and meat purveyor Pat LaFrieda are urging the restaurant community to support a campaign to eradicate AIDS.
Called Eat (Red) Drink (Red) and Save Lives, the June 1-10 promotion is encouraging other restaurant and bar operators to create a red-inspired dish or cocktail and pledge a portion of the proceeds for these items to the Global Fund to Fight AIDS.
Participating chefs and restaurateurs include Emeril Lagasse, Marcus Samuelsson, David Chang, Nancy Silverton, Danny Meyer and others.
