Working Lunch: Fight for $15 returns with ties to civil rights history

Protests planned for Feb. 12 in Memphis, Tenn.

The Fight for $15 is back with protesters from the South and across the country rallying in Memphis, Tenn., on Feb. 12 — the same day the Memphis sanitation strike began in 1968, tying their message of equality and human rights to the civil rights movement. The Align crew discusses these protests as well as the public reveal of the actual pay disparity between CEOs and rank and file workers and the headache those early numbers could pose for these companies’ public relations.

The team also talks about Amazon, J.P. Morgan and Berkshire Hathaway taking matters into their own hands regarding healthcare policy, and this week’s legislative scorecard.
