Why she's rising: Triple Creek Ranch was recently named one of the top 10 Small Resorts in the U.S.; was named 1998 Woman of the Year by the Network of Executive Women in Hospitality; was recently named president and c.e.o. of the American Management Association, a $250 million, 87,000-member worldwide management research and training organization; currently has a teaching fellowship at Harvard University. Education: Bachelor's, masters and law degree from Arizona State. Background: She's an attorney and an instrument-rated pilot who served as the first women deputy administrator of the Federal Aviation Administration and as the last vice chairman of the Civil Aeronautics Board. In 1994 Barrett was a candidate for the governor of Arizona.
