Don’t Complain on Facebook

What server hasn’t griped about getting stiffed by a cheap customer? But where and how they air their grievances can lead to the unemployment line. That’s what one North Carolina server learned when she was fired after posting a complaint on her Facebook page about a $5 tip she got from a couple she waited on for three hours. Among other things, she grumbled the couple kept her working an hour after her shift had ended.

According to the Charlotte Observer, Ashley Johnson, 22, criticized the couple on her Facebook page and mentioned the name of the restaurant she had worked for, Brixx. Her bosses there showed Johnson the door because they said she violated a company policy that prevents employees from criticizing customers on a social network.
