Great Room: A designer's tour of Estrella, Los Angeles

The 1970s bungalows of L.A.’s Laurel Canyon, where musicians like Mama Cass Elliot, Joni Mitchell and other artists lived and worked, served as the inspiration for Estrella, a new restaurant from Choice Hospitality group and former Top Chef contestant Dakota Weiss. The restaurant is meant to evoke "a time when food, music, artistry, and community all coexisted under one canopy." The project's designers, Adam Goldstein and Leslie Kale of Santa Monica-based Studio Collective, showed us around.
