Jones Dairy Farm’s America’s Best Restaurant Families Awards

Any family who currently owns and operates a commercial restaurant operation in the U.S. is invited to enter this awards program that started in 2006. The Grand Prize winner receives a four-day trip to Chicago for up to four family members to attend the National Restaurant Association Show, $500 spending money, a visit to Jones Dairy Farm and $1,000 in Jones Dairy Farm products. National Honey Board 2014 Honey Innovation Awards

Food and beverage professionals have an opportunity to win one of two $1,000 Grand Prizes or a $500 runner-up award in the 2014 Honey Innovation Awards.  Operators can submit innovative honey-inspired food and beverage items that appeared on their menus for at least one week between January 1 and May 1, 2014. The National Mango Board’s Mangover Your Menu Recipe Contest

U.S. Potato Board Hot Potato, Healthy Potato Recipe Contest

May 31, 2014

Submit your recipe for a healthier potato side dish, appetizer, salad or entrée, along with a description of why the dish is a better-for-you menu item and what potatoes bring to the party. The Grand Prize Winner receives an all-expenses-paid trip to the Menu Innovations with Potatoes seminar at the Culinary Institute of America in Napa Valley, CA.  A runner-up will be awarded $500 in cash. MARS Foodservices Chef Showdown 2013 Dessert Contest


Chef Michael Watz, instructor at Washburne Culinary Institute in Chicago, won the $2,000 cash prize for his Mascarpone Twix® and Shout creation. Runners-up were Adam Hegsted, executive chef at Coeur d’Alene Casino in Worley, ID, and Amber Croom, head pastry chef at Bellini’s Ristorante & Bar in Birmingham, AL.
